Each campaign is identified by an NHTSA Campaign Number (a string like 25V123000) and lists every make / model / year combination affected. The most common vehicle-recall categories are airbag and seatbelt failures (the consequence is non-deployment in a crash), fuel system defects with fire risk, steering or brake malfunctions, electrical defects in EVs that can cause battery thermal events, software bugs in driver-assist systems, and child-seat harness failures. Recalls for tires almost always relate to a tread-separation risk in a defined production date range.
Every NHTSA recall is mandatory for the manufacturer to remedy at no charge to the owner, with no expiration. If your vehicle has an open recall, your dealer is required to perform the remedy free of charge as long as the vehicle exists. BMW is recalling certain 2026 X5, X5 Plug-in Hybrid, and X7 vehicles because the windshield may not be sealed properly, allowing water to enter electrical components and potentially causing headlight failure or fire.
Nissan is recalling certain 2020–2026 Nissan Armada and 2011–2027 Infiniti QX56/QX80 vehicles with 22" wheels because the Gross Axle Weight Rating on the certification label is incorrect, which can allow the vehicle to be overloaded and increase crash risk.

Nissan is recalling certain 2025 Murano and 2025–2026 Armada vehicles, along with 2025–2026 Infiniti QX80 models, due to a software error that may prevent the rearview camera from displaying when the vehicle is in reverse, reducing visibility and increasing crash risk.
Hyundai is recalling certain 2025–2026 Tucson and Santa Fe vehicles because engine connecting rod bolts may have been improperly tightened, risking loss of drive power, engine damage, oil leaks, and potential fire.

Hyundai is recalling certain 2025 Kona Electric and 2026 Kona vehicles because the rear center seat belt buckle may fail to properly restrain an occupant during a crash. Dealers will replace the buckle assembly for free.

PACCAR is recalling 2024–2026 Kenworth and Peterbilt trucks. A software fault may prevent tail brake lights, headlights, reverse lights, and turn signals from illuminating properly, and may cause lift axles to unexpectedly raise or oscillate.
General Motors is recalling certain 2025–2026 GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban 1500, and Cadillac Escalade models with 24-inch wheels due to incorrectly installed front wheel hub bolts that may loosen or break, risking loss of vehicle control.
