Maxtrade LLC is recalling about 141,000 Coolster Mountopz all-terrain vehicles (ATVs), models 3050-B, 3050-C, 3125-B2, 3125-CX-2, 3125-CX-3, 3125-XR8-U2, 3150-CXC, 3150-DX-4, 3175-S2, and 3175-U. These vehicles are intended for children aged 6, 10, or 12 years and older, or for teenagers, depending on the model.

The ATVs fail to comply with the federal mandatory ATV safety standard. Specifically, the youth ATVs exceed the maximum speed limitations required for vehicles intended for their target age groups. Additionally, for certain ATV models, the parking brakes do not prevent the vehicle from moving. These safety defects pose a risk of serious injury or death.

The recalled vehicles were sold through Maxtrade dealers nationwide and online retailers including Amazon, Walmart, and other powersports and toy retailers from January 2007 through January 2021, priced between $370 and $1,100.
