Yamaha Wolverine RMAX Off-Road Vehicles Recalled for Fire and Explosion Hazards
Yamaha is recalling about 4,130 Wolverine RMAX off-road side-by-side vehicles due to damaged fuel tanks that can leak fuel, creating fire and explosion risks. No injuries have been reported to date.
What this means for you
Minor labeling or packaging issue, or a voluntary precautionary recall. Risk of harm is low but real — follow the manufacturer's instructions.
Our severity reasoning: Although the hazard involves fire and explosion potential, the source text explicitly states no incidents of fuel leakage, no injuries, and no illnesses have been reported. The hazard is theoretical based on two reports of incorrect fuel tank assembly. Under the rubric, when no illnesses or injuries are reported and the hazard is theoretical, the score is at most 3, and this voluntary precautionary repair recall qualifies as Moderate (score 2).
