Monti Kids Toy Box with Bins Recalled Due to Choking Hazard

Monti Kids is recalling about 1,500 Toy Box with Bins units sold online from July 2021 through February 2022 because a small dowel can become exposed and detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The hazard involves a choking risk to young children, which is a high-risk condition for that population. Although no injuries have been reported and the hazard is theoretical at this point, choking hazards in toys for children are classified as high-severity per the rubric because of the inherent risk of harm.

Plain-English summary

Monti Kids Inc. of Orinda, California is recalling the Box with Bins, a wooden toy with three colored bins (blue, red, and yellow) measuring approximately 13 x 5.5 x 5.5 inches.
