Polaris RZR XP Turbo and Turbo S Off-Road Vehicles Clutch Fracture Fire Injury

Polaris Industries Inc. is recalling approximately 27,300 Model Year 2021 RZR XP Turbo and RZR Turbo S recreational off-road vehicles, plus about 660 units sold in Canada. The vehicles were sold by Polaris dealers nationwide from December 2019 through September 2022 for between $21,000 and $32,000. The vehicles were available in black, blue, gray, lime, orange, and sand colors and in two and four-seat configurations.
The primary (drive) clutch can fracture during use, causing metal fragments to be ejected from the vehicle. This hazard poses risks of fire and injury to vehicle occupants and bystanders. Polaris has received 206 reports of clutch failures, including reports of six fires, two injuries, and one vehicle tip-over.
Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled vehicles and contact Polaris or an authorized Polaris dealer to schedule a free repair. The dealer will replace the primary clutch at no cost. Polaris has notified consumers to stop riding the vehicles and is contacting all dealers and registered owners directly with repair details.
