CFMOTO ZFORCE 950 ROVs Recalled for Crash and Tip-Over Hazards

CFMOTO is recalling approximately 3,630 ZFORCE 950 HO Sport Side-by-Side recreational off-highway vehicles from 2022–2023 because the shock absorber rod assembly can unthread and detach, causing suspension collapse and crash or tip-over hazards.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: This recall meets the Severe criteria because there is a significant injury report (rib impact injury from a tip-over incident) and approximately 86 reported incidents of the defect. The hazard—suspension collapse leading to crash and tip-over—poses a direct risk of serious injury to vehicle operators.

Plain-English summary

CFMOTO Powersports Inc. is recalling approximately 3,630 ZFORCE 950 HO Sport Side-by-Side recreational off-highway vehicles (ROVs) from model years 2022–2023. The vehicles were sold nationwide through CFMOTO dealers from March 2022 through June 2024 for about $14,000 each. The affected ROVs are identified by "CFMOTO" stamped on the front and "ZFORCE" printed on the side of the chassis, and are available in gray, orange, and tan colors.

The shock absorber rod assembly can unthread and detach, causing the suspension to collapse. This poses a crash and tip-over hazard to the rider. CFMOTO Powersports has received approximately 86 reports of incidents in which the shock absorber failed and the suspension collapsed, including one tip-over that resulted in impact injury to the ribs.

Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled ROVs and contact an authorized CFMOTO dealer to schedule a free repair. CFMOTO has issued a Stop Ride notice and is contacting all registered owners and dealers directly with details about the repair. Consumers can reach CFMOTO toll-free at 888-823-6686 (8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT, Monday–Friday), email [email protected], or visit https://www.cfmotousa.com/vehicle-recall or www.cfmotousa.com and select "Vehicle Recall" under the "Customer Care" column.
