Multi-Purpose Helmets Recalled for Serious Head Injury Risk
Multi-purpose helmets sold on Temu by Foubeaka and Geniuss are recalled because they violate mandatory bicycle helmet safety standards and can fail to protect users in a crash, posing a serious risk of injury or death.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: The helmets pose a risk of serious injury or death due to failure to meet mandatory safety standards for head protection in crashes. Although no injuries have been reported, the hazard involves a high-risk scenario (head protection) with potential for serious harm, meeting the High severity criterion for risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported.
Plain-English summary
Foubeaka and Geniuss multi-purpose helmets sold on Temu from August 2024 through February 2026 are being recalled. The recalled helmets were sold in white and black, in size small (S), fitting a head circumference of about 18.9 to 20.5 inches, for between $9 and $11.
The helmets violate the mandatory safety standard for bicycle helmets because they do not comply with positional stability and certification requirements. As a result, the helmets can fail to protect the user in the event of a crash, posing a serious risk of injury or death due to head injury.
Consumers should stop using the recalled helmets immediately.
