Recreational vehicles with incorrect automatic parking function manual

Certain 2020 and 2021 recreational vehicles built on Sprinter chassis with automatic transmission are being recalled due to an error in the Operator's Manual.

The manual does not correctly specify the conditions under which the automatic parking function (Auto-P) operates. If drivers rely on the function as described in the manual, vehicle rollaway or movement may occur, increasing the risk of a crash. Approximately 392 units are affected.

Affected vehicles include Forest River (Battisti, Forester, Sunseeker), Coachmen (Galleria, PRISM), and Dynamax (Isata) models from 2020 and 2021.

Forest River and Mercedes-Benz dealers are providing a corrected Operator's Manual at no charge. The recall began June 25, 2020. Owners can contact Forest River customer service at 1-800-348-7440 or Sprinter service at 1-877-762-8267. The corrected booklet is also available online through Mercedes-Benz. Alternatively, owners can contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 or visit www.safercar.gov.
