2017-2021 Freightliner Cascadia brake modulator valve corrosion recall

Daimler Trucks North America LLC (DTNA) is recalling certain 2017-2021 Freightliner Cascadia tractor trailers because the single brake modulator valve can be affected by chemical corrosion.

The chemical corrosion can slow the release timing of the brake modulator valve, causing the brakes to pull toward the affected side during automatic braking events. This may cause a sudden change in vehicle direction, increasing the risk of a crash.

DTNA will notify owners. Dealers will replace the front left and right single brake modulator valves and add spacers at no cost. The recall began August 28, 2020.
