If the weld separates, the connection between the front axle support and the control arm bearing bracket fails. This compromises vehicle handling and control, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners of affected vehicles should contact BMW customer service at 1-800-525-7417 to schedule a service appointment. BMW dealers will replace the front axle support at no cost to the owner. The recall remediation began on December 18, 2020.
