What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This recall addresses a structural electrical defect that creates a genuine fire hazard in travel trailers. Although no injuries have been reported, the mechanical failure and risk of electrical arcing warrant High severity as a risk-of-harm product defect without yet-reported injury.
Plain-English summary
Alliance RV, LLC is recalling certain 2022 Valor, Paradigm, and Avenue travel trailers equipped with 50-amp shore power inlets. The power inlet lug bolts may have been manufactured with excessively hard metal, preventing them from being tightened properly and resulting in loose wiring connections.
Loose wiring can cause an electrical arc or short, increasing the risk of fire in the vehicle. This defect poses a serious safety hazard to RV occupants and property.
Owners should contact Alliance RV customer service at 1-574-218-7165 or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) for more information. Dealers will inspect and replace the power inlet free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 25, 2022.
