Motorhome Cooktops May Leak Gas and Create Fire Risk

Forest River is recalling certain 2022-2023 Coachmen motorhomes with faulty cooktops. The burner tubes may fracture and leak gas, creating a fire hazard.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: No fires, injuries, or illnesses have been reported, and the hazard is theoretical—a potential gas leak and fire risk. This qualifies as a risk-of-harm product without reported injury, consistent with Score 3 (High).

Plain-English summary

Forest River, Inc. is recalling certain 2022-2023 Coachmen Galleria, 2023 Coachmen Beyond, and 2023 Coachmen Nova motorhomes equipped with SDS2 2-Burner Drop-in Cooktops (part numbers 3031AST and 3032AST). A total of 12 units are affected.

The internal aluminum burner tubes that connect to the gas valves may fracture. If this occurs, the cooktop may leak gas.

A gas leak in the presence of an ignition source creates a fire hazard. No fires or injuries have been reported at this time.

Forest River is providing a free remedy: dealers will install a regulator support bracket. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 13, 2023.
