What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: Structural vehicle defect with potential fire hazard in crash scenarios. No reported injuries or incidents; hazard is credible but theoretical, pending crash occurrence.

Plain-English summary

Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2022 Jeep Wrangler vehicles, affecting approximately 35,829 vehicles across these model years.

A stud on the frame assembly may puncture the fuel tank in a crash. If the fuel tank is punctured, fuel can leak. In the presence of an ignition source, this fuel leak increases the risk of fire.

Owners should contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Dealers will inspect and, if necessary, remove the frame stud and apply paint at no cost. Owner notification letters were mailed on April 6, 2023. For additional information, contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov.
