Plain-English summary
Forest River, Inc. is recalling multiple travel trailer models and years due to a defect in solar panel mounting hardware. The affected vehicles include 2022 East to West Tandara, Entrada, and other models from Forest River, Coachmen, Prime Time, and Shasta brands. In total, approximately 2,616 vehicles are affected.
The solar panel mounting hardware on these vehicles may become loose and pull through the slot in the panel. This can cause the solar panels to detach from the vehicle during transit, increasing the risk of a crash.
Owner notification letters were mailed on May 5, 2023. Forest River is replacing this hardware free of charge through authorized dealers, who will install additional hardware and a secondary holding bracket to secure the solar panels.
Owners should contact their vehicle's customer service line to arrange the repair, or contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 for more information.
