Plain-English summary
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2022 and 2023 Jeep Wrangler plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. The high voltage battery pack assemblies were built with incorrect fasteners securing the 200-amp fuse.
The incorrect fasteners can allow excessive heat to build up around the fuse, potentially causing it to fail. Fuse failure would result in loss of drive power while operating the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.
Approximately 2,564 vehicles are affected. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 23, 2023.
Owners should contact a Chrysler dealer to have the HV battery fuse inspected and replaced if necessary. Dealers will also inspect the battery assembly for damage and replace it if needed. All repairs are performed at no cost. Owners can contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 or the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153).
