Fleetwood, Holiday Rambler Motorhomes Recalled for Damaged Trailer Hitch

REV Recreation Group is recalling 2020-2024 Fleetwood Bounder, Holiday Rambler Vacationer, and select Fleetwood Southwind motorhomes. The trailer hitch may become damaged due to stress or overloading, potentially causing the towed vehicle to separate.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: NHTSA structural vehicle defect (trailer hitch failure) that can cause vehicle separation and crash risk. No injuries or deaths reported. Criterion applied: risk-of-harm product where injury has not yet been reported.

Plain-English summary

REV Recreation Group is recalling certain 2020-2024 Fleetwood Bounder motorhomes, 2020-2023 Fleetwood Southwind motorhomes, and 2020-2024 Holiday Rambler Vacationer motorhomes. The trailer hitch assembly may become damaged due to stress or vehicle overloading (1,186 units affected).

If the hitch becomes damaged, the towed vehicle may separate from the motorhome while in operation. This separation creates a serious road hazard and increases the risk of a crash.

Owners received notification letters mailed on June 27, 2023. Dealers will inspect and replace the damaged hitch free of charge. Contact REV customer service at 1-800-509-3417 to schedule service.
