Plain-English summary
Lucid USA, Inc. is recalling approximately 189 certain 2022, 2023, and 2024 Lucid Air vehicles that are running software versions 2.1.2 through 2.1.26. The adaptive cruise control software in these vehicles may cause a fault while the system is active, resulting in a sudden loss of drive power.
A sudden loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash and creates an unexpected loss of vehicle control. The fault can occur whenever the adaptive cruise control is engaged.
Lucid released a free over-the-air (OTA) software update in October 2023 to fix this issue. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 8, 2024. Owners of affected vehicles should contact Lucid customer service at 1-888-995-8243 to receive the update at no cost.
