Daimler Trucks North America, LLC is recalling certain 2025 commercial vehicles including Western Star 49X, 47X, and 57X models, Freightliner Custom Chassis, Freightliner 108SD and 114SD, Freightliner Business Class M2, and Thomas Built Buses Saf-T-Liner C2. Approximately 285 vehicles are affected.
The wheel hub fasteners on these vehicles may loosen, which can cause the wheel to detach from the vehicle. A detached wheel results in loss of vehicle control, increasing the risk of a crash.
Owners should contact Daimler Trucks North America customer service at 800-745-8000 to schedule a dealer inspection and replacement of the hub nut retaining system, wheel end, and axle components as necessary. This service is provided free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on July 18, 2024.
