2025 Triumph Speed Twin Motorcycles Recalled for Turn Signal Visibility Defect
Triumph is recalling 2025 Speed Twin motorcycles (900, 1200, 1200 RS) due to red rear turn signals installed too close to the tail light, reducing visibility and increasing crash risk. Dealers will replace the signals with amber colored ones free of charge.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This recall involves a Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard violation (FMVSS 108) for turn signal visibility, creating a theoretical crash risk. No injuries or deaths have been reported, placing this in the High category per the rubric for risk-of-harm products without reported harm.
Plain-English summary
Triumph Motorcycles America, Ltd. is recalling certain 2025 Triumph Speed Twin motorcycles, including the 900, 1200, and 1200 RS models. The recalled motorcycles have red rear turn signals that were installed too close to the rear tail light. This placement violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number 108, which sets requirements for lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment.
The proximity of the red turn signals to the tail light can create difficulty in clearly seeing the motorcycle's intentions on the road. This visibility issue increases the risk of a crash. Approximately 1,157 motorcycles are affected by this defect.
Owners of affected motorcycles should contact a Triumph dealer, who will replace the red rear turn signals with amber colored turn signals at no charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on March 20, 2025. Owners may contact Triumph customer service at 1-678-854-2010 (recall number SRAN 630) or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171), or visit nhtsa.gov for more information.
