2023 Winnebago Ekko RV Recalled for Cracked LP Gas Fittings

Winnebago is recalling 2021-2023 Ekko recreational vehicles because quick disconnect fittings in the LP gas system may crack, potentially causing a gas leak that could lead to fire.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: This is a structural vehicle defect affecting the fuel system. Cracked LP gas fittings can cause a gas leak that presents a fire risk, which could result in serious injury or property damage.

Plain-English summary

Winnebago Industries, Inc. is recalling certain 2021, 2022, and 2023 Ekko recreational vehicles. The quick disconnect fittings in the LP gas system may be cracked.

A cracked fitting can allow LP gas to leak. If a gas leak occurs in the presence of an ignition source, such as a stove flame or heater, it can increase the risk of fire.

If you own an affected vehicle, contact a Winnebago dealer to have the fittings replaced free of charge. Owners were notified by mail on June 22, 2022. For more information, call Winnebago customer service at 1-641-585-6939 or 1-800-537-1885.

You can also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or visit www.nhtsa.gov for more details.
