Winnebago Travato motorhomes recalled for unintended awning extension

Winnebago is recalling certain 2019-2023 Travato motorhomes because the retractable awning may extend unintentionally during transit. An extended awning could become a distraction or road hazard, increasing crash risk.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: This is scored as High (3) because it presents a structural vehicle defect with risk of harm—an awning that may extend during transit and cause distraction or crash risk—but no injuries or deaths have been reported. Per the rubric, risk-of-harm products where injury has not yet been reported score at most 3.
