Winnebago is recalling multiple 2024-2026 motorhome models with ThermaHeat Tank Pads that may fail and increase the risk of fire. Dealers will replace the heating pad free of charge.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: This recall involves a structural vehicle component defect (water tank heating pad failure) in motorhomes. However, the source describes the fire hazard as theoretical ('can increase the risk'), with no reported injuries or incidents. Per the rubric, theoretical hazards without reported harm score at most High.

Plain-English summary

Winnebago Industries is recalling certain 2024-2026 Spirit, Minnie Winnie, Travato, View, Navion, and 2026-2027 Sunflyer motorhomes, as well as 2021-2026 Commercial vehicles and 2023-2026 425 Commercial Shell models equipped with a ThermaHeat Tank Pad. The water tank heating pad may experience high resistance and fail.

A heating pad failure can increase the risk of fire. The affected component is part of the freeze prevention system in the water plumbing.

Remedy is available now: Winnebago dealers will install a replacement water tank heating pad at no cost to owners. Owners were notified by letter on March 16, 2026.
