Mercedes-Benz Metris air bag control unit may accumulate water
Daimler Vans USA is recalling certain 2020 and 2022-2023 Mercedes-Benz Metris right-hand-drive vehicles because water may accumulate on the air bag control unit and stop the air bags deploying as intended.
What this means for you
Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.
Our severity reasoning: Rubric level 4 covers structural vehicle defects: the source states the air bags may not deploy at all, which is a failure of the primary occupant-protection system.
