Brake Hose Chafing in 2019-2021 Entegra Qwest and Jayco Motorhomes

Jayco recalls 2019-2021 Entegra Qwest and Jayco Melbourne motorhomes because the front fender liner can chafe the brake hose, causing brake fluid loss and extended stopping distances.

Plain-English summary

Jayco, Inc. is recalling certain 2019-2021 Entegra Qwest and Jayco Melbourne and Melbourne Prestige motorhomes built on a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter chassis. Approximately 666 vehicles are affected.

The rear section of the front-axle fender liner may contact and chafe the brake hose. This chafing can cause the brake hose to leak, resulting in a loss of brake fluid. Loss of brake fluid extends the stopping distance required to halt the vehicle, increasing the risk of a crash.

Owners should contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137. Jayco will notify owners, and Mercedes Sprinter dealers will inspect and replace the brake hoses free of charge. The fender liners will also be modified. The recall began on July 14, 2020.
