2021-2023 Dodge Durango Recalled for Misaligned Rear Spoiler Detachment Risk
Chrysler is recalling 2021-2023 Dodge Durango vehicles because the rear spoiler may not be properly aligned with the roof. The misaligned spoiler can be damaged during liftgate use and potentially detach, becoming a road hazard.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This is a structural vehicle defect with potential for serious harm (spoiler detachment becoming a road hazard and crash risk), but no injuries or crashes have been reported in the source text. Per the severity rubric, when a hazard is theoretical with no reported injuries, the maximum score is 3.
Plain-English summary
Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021-2023 Dodge Durango vehicles. The rear spoiler on these vehicles may not be properly aligned with the roof.
Because of this misalignment, the spoiler can be damaged during normal liftgate operation. A damaged rear spoiler can detach and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash for occupants and other drivers.
Owners should contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403 to arrange a free dealer inspection and replacement of the rear spoiler at no cost.
