2020-2021 Jayco Melbourne Motorhomes Recalled for Instrument Cluster Failure

Jayco is recalling certain 2020-2021 Melbourne motorhomes because the instrument cluster may fail and display nothing. Drivers would lose access to critical vehicle information, increasing crash risk.

What this means for you

Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.

Our severity reasoning: The instrument cluster failure prevents display of critical vehicle safety information, creating significant crash risk. However, no injuries or deaths have been reported, qualifying this as Score 3 (High)—a risk-of-harm situation without documented harm.

Plain-English summary

Jayco, Inc. is recalling certain 2020-2021 Melbourne and Melbourne Prestige motorhomes. The instrument cluster may fail to display any information when the vehicle is started, resulting in a blank dashboard.

When this defect occurs, drivers lose access to critical vehicle information, including speed, fuel gauge, warning messages, and warning lights. This significantly increases the risk of a crash.

Approximately 62 units are affected across the 2020 and 2021 model years. Owner notification letters were mailed on June 15, 2023.

Owners can contact Jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267 to schedule a free remedy. Dealers will update the instrument cluster software at no charge. For additional information, owners may contact the NHTSA Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236.
