Plain-English summary
PACCAR Incorporated is recalling certain 2023-2024 Peterbilt and Kenworth commercial trucks. The adhesive thread-lock was not applied to the four flange-mounted yoke bolt threads on the driveline. This allows driveline fasteners to loosen.
The recall affects Peterbilt models 536, 537, and 548, and Kenworth models T280, T480, and T380 from model years 2023-2024. A loose driveline could separate from the truck, increasing the risk of a crash.
Dealers will apply adhesive thread-lock and replace the fasteners free of charge. Owners will receive notification letters and should contact PACCAR customer service at 1-425-828-5888 (Kenworth) or 1-940-591-4220 (Peterbilt) to arrange service. The PACCAR recall numbers are 23KWE (Kenworth) and 23PBE (Peterbilt).
