Mack Trucks Recalls Multiple Models for Brake Control ECU Defect

Mack Trucks is recalling certain 2020–2025 Anthem, Granite, TerraPro, and Pinnacle vehicles due to ECU software issues that may disable safety systems including ABS and traction control, increasing crash risk. Dealers will reprogram the units at no cost.

Mack Trucks, Inc. is recalling certain 2020–2025 Anthem, Granite, TerraPro, Pinnacle, and Pioneer commercial vehicles equipped with Bendix EC80 Advanced Electronic Control Units (ECU). The ECU may experience electrical noise or low signal issues that cause it to incorrectly process commands or stop working entirely.

When the ECU malfunctions, several safety systems may lose or have severely reduced functionality: Automatic Traction Control, Anti-lock Brakes (ABS), Electronic Stability Control, Active Cruise Control, and Collision Mitigation System. This defect increases the risk of a crash.

Approximately 59,338 vehicles are affected. Owner notification letters were mailed on December 9, 2024. Owners should contact Mack customer service at 1-800-866-1177 to schedule service. Dealers will reprogram the ECU software at no charge.
