2025-2026 Grand Design Lineage RVs Recalled for Improperly Tightened Seat Bases

Grand Design is recalling 2025-2026 Lineage recreational vehicles because driver and passenger seat bases may not be properly tightened. Loose bases could move during a crash, increasing injury risk; dealers will tighten them for free.

What this means for you

Illness, injury, or structural failure has been reported. Stop using the product immediately and contact the manufacturer for a refund or repair.

Our severity reasoning: Structural vehicle defect affecting critical safety components (FMVSS 207 seating fasteners) meets the rubric criterion for Severe. No injuries have been reported, but the defect presents clear crash-safety risk.

Plain-English summary

Grand Design RV, LLC is recalling certain 2025 and 2026 Lineage recreational vehicles. The driver and passenger seat bases may not have been tightened properly during manufacturing, which violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) 207 for seating systems.

If a seat base is loose, the seat could move or shift during a vehicle crash. This movement could increase the risk of injury to the driver or passenger.

Approximately 426 units are potentially affected. If you own a 2025 or 2026 Lineage, contact Grand Design customer service at 1-574-825-9679 to schedule inspection and tightening of the seat bases. This service is provided free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed beginning May 15, 2026.
