Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2021 Dodge Challenger vehicles because the safety system status indicators on the instrument cluster do not illuminate sufficiently in both daylight and nighttime driving conditions. The vehicles fail to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 101, "Control and Displays."
Approximately 135 vehicles are affected by this recall. The issue affects the electrical instrument cluster and its display of safety system status information.
Without visible safety system indicators, drivers may not receive information regarding the status of vehicle safety systems, increasing the risk of injury or a crash. Owners should contact FCA US LLC customer service at 1-800-853-140 or visit www.nhtsa.gov to arrange for the free remedy.
Dealers will reprogram the instrument cluster with the correct software version at no charge to the owner. Owner notification letters were mailed on October 5, 2021.
