Lincoln Corsair and Ford Escape plug-in hybrids recalled for traction battery defects
Ford is recalling 2022–2026 Ford Escape and 2023–2026 Lincoln Corsair plug-in hybrid vehicles due to high voltage battery cell defects that may cause loss of drive power or fire. Owners should use Auto EV mode and limit battery charging to 80% until repairs are available.

Ford Motor Company is recalling certain 2022–2026 Ford Escape and 2023–2026 Lincoln Corsair plug-in hybrid electric vehicles. A manufacturing defect in one or more high voltage battery cells may result in an internal short circuit and battery failure.
Battery failure can cause a loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash. Battery failure can also increase the risk of fire. Approximately 25,191 vehicles are affected by this recall.
As an interim measure while the final remedy is under development, owners have been instructed to use Auto EV mode and limit their vehicle's battery charge to a maximum of 80%. Interim notification letters were sent to owners on February 26, 2026. Additional letters will be sent once the final repair becomes available.
