Nova Bus LFS Transit Buses Seat Belt Tension Reliever Defect Recall
Nova Bus is recalling certain 2016-2023 LFS transit buses because the driver's seat belt tension-relieving device may fail to disengage without manual intervention, potentially preventing proper seat belt restraint during a crash.
What this means for you
Real risk of harm even if no illness or injury has been reported yet. Stop using the product and follow the agency's guidance.
Our severity reasoning: This recall involves a defect in a critical safety system (seat belt restraint) affecting 416 vehicles. Although seat belt failures in transit buses represent a significant risk of injury, no incidents or injuries have been reported. Per the rubric, risk-of-harm products where no injury has yet been reported score at the High level.
