Plain-English summary
Mazda North American Operations is recalling certain 2024-2025 Mazda MX-5 vehicles. The Traction Control System (TCS) and Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) indicator light may fail to illuminate as intended due to a software error in the DSC unit. This defect violates Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 126 regarding Electronic Stability Control Systems.
When the indicator light fails to illuminate, drivers may not receive a warning if the TCS or DSC system experiences an issue. This could increase the risk of a crash by leaving drivers unaware of a critical safety system failure.
